THE ABUNDANCE MINDSET

The abundance mindset is one that intrigues me a lot. A mindset that believes the earth is full of God’s goodness and abundance, so there is enough to go round. There is enough for everyone. I can also call it a wealthy mindset.

A person with this mindset has tapped into a very deep revelation of God, the purpose for which Jesus came. Jesus said ‘I come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly’-Jn10:10. Not just have life, abundant life. A life of no lack - a wealthy life. He was not talking about riches-materialism. The abundance Jesus talks about here goes beyond the material things we can see to the important intangible ones that we can not see. Those things that money can not buy.

We often hear ‘Health is wealth’. A person with good health is wealthy if we go by this saying. I know a man who celebrated 70th birthday and everyone including my children said he might not know his age judging by his looks. Meanwhile he eats everything including drinking full cream milk. He is literate and worked in an establishment till he retired so he knows his age. When I chatted with him, I realized he has that mindset – abundance mindset. That God has given us everything for us to profit from them. Remember, we have been given all things that pertain to life and Godliness-2Pet 1:3. The Universe is abundantly furnished for mankind.

Another aspect of the abundance mindset is one I mentioned earlier. There is enough for everyone. Someone does not have to lose something for another to have his/hers. Someone does not have to become poor for another to be rich. Someone does not have to die for another to have space to live on earth. Someone does not have to be deprived for another to possess. The Holy Spirit made me understand that this mindset is a very wealthy mindset. There is enough for everyone. There is enough for me and the other person, so no need to envy, fight or kill for one to have his/hers. Ask the creator for yours and watch it manifest.

There is enough for everyone is God’s way of living and the perfect way to live. God told David that if what He gave him was too little, He would have given him more, if David had asked. He didn’t need to kill Uriah. What do you want? Do not wish nor pray for another person’s own to spoil for yours to manifest. That will be a poverty mindset and totally against what Jesus came to do with His life.
“I come that they might have life”. Give life, not death. Genuinely wish another success, not failure this 2017.
