YOUR MIND OR THE CROWD?

Many people fail in life because they hardly understand the REAL SELF in them. Many an individual also doesn’t get it right that working in a way someone else wishes one to. Anytine you wish to take vital decisions in your life, endeavour to ask yourself why you need to activate such decisions. Do they come from your solo mind? Or do you always follow the crowd or rather dance to the music they sing?

Are you a secondary school student? Ask yourself why you need to be in that department. You are good at Physics and Chemistry from S S 1, but you run away from science department to Arts because many of your friends prefer Arts to Sciences. Are you not planning to kill your destiny with your own hands? Also, you are excellent in English Language and Literatures, you don’t need a voodoo or soothsayer before you pack all your luggage to Arts, wholeheartedly!

Are you sure nobody forces you to study a particular course, as a student of a tertiary institution? Ookay! Your father forces you to study Law? Oh! It is your mother who compels you to read engineering. ‘Eeya,’ don’t tell me that you study mass communication because your ‘boyfriend’ wants you to be a radio or television idol. If all these are in affirmative, I tell you, it is hightime you changed your mind. It is time you builded on your passion. Work towards what you love doing as a course. Never be a CROWD FOLLOWER. Always please your ‘spiritos’ so that you won’t regret being indifferent to your career choice in the future.

Do you wish to marry that wealthy daughter of your father’s friend because dad says both of you will continue to roll in abundant wealth after marriage? Are you going for that girl because your friends want you to deflower her on that lonely day? Are you interested in that handsome guy because your ‘cute and sexy’ friends force you to date a handsome guy, euen if he doesn’t care about your wellbeing? You are a regular client at different club houses because your friends say you need to socialize and be ‘expensive,’ don’t you think your destiny lies in the hands of your so-
called friends? Think now and be the architect of your MIND. Nobody should mediate and work your mind for you, common!

“My friends are into businesses, I must join the race,” is one of the greatest tragedies that can befall a man. Have you consulted people, places and methodology that will facilitate the bouyancy of your potential business venture? This is where RESEARCH comes in. Do you bother to identify your strengths, weaknesses, threats and
opportunities first? I say it again, NEVER HURT YOURSELF TO PLEASE SOMEONE! People will dessert you when you run into a LIVE WIRE (trouble).

My dear readers, once beaten, twice shy. A successful and confident individual is he who has an absolute control over his real self and takes responsibility for whatever he does with his mind. This always leads to establishing a self-esteem and actualisation for oneself.
